Making "green" decisions may require a little research or an extra effort, but in the long run these decisions protect our resources, the wildlife, our food sources, and even our health.
As a hospital, going "green" simply makes sense. It helps provide a healthy environment for our patients and our staff. Going green helps our hospital leave a smaller footprint on the planet, which in the end helps preserve local resources and the local environment.
Our goal was to incorporate green technologies that focused on the following four ideas:
1. Reduce off-gassing of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
2. Make our use of traditional energy sources more efficient
3. Use the sun for free energy and light
4. Support industries that use recycling in their products |
There are a multitude of ways to achieve this list of criteria. Here is a sampling of what we, Price Creek Animal Hospital, chose to do:
